&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;h3&amp;gt;What is journalism in the new medium of the Web? What are its values and functions in a participatory democracy?  We plan to make signs out of these slogans and put them around the Fred W. Smith Forum. The purpose is to remind us that we&#039;re entering a new medium, and to help us focus on journalism in the new medium.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
